Individual Psychotherapy – Individual therapy is an opportunity to work on personal issues, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues and addictions. Sessions generally last for 50 minutes and are usually held either once a week or bi-weekly. Length of therapy is determined on an individual case by case basis.
Couples Therapy – Couples therapy is a chance for couples to work on communication, sexual concerns, and other issues that come in the way of a happy and satisfying relationship. Couples sessions generally last for 50 minutes and are held either weekly or bi-weekly. There may be times throughout the counseling process where each individual may be seen separately to work on individual concerns.
Family Therapy – Parenting is one of the most difficult jobs a person can have. Family Therapy can be an opportunity to learn new ways to communicate effectively as a family and to parent your child in a way that will lead to a healthier, happier and more peaceful home. Sessions can last from 50 minutes to an hour and a half.
Group Therapy – There are two concurrent Eating Disorder Treatment groups lead by Dr. Owens. Each group is an eight-week commitment and availability is limited. Groups focus on developing healthy self-esteem and body image, as well as nutrition education and building skills to aid in recovery from eating disorders. Group therapy is an opportunity to obtain support from others who are suffering from eating disorders as well as obtain education about ways to recover from the eating disorder. Groups are held on Monday and Thursday evenings. The Monday group is for women only and the Thursday group is a coed group.
